Our heat treatment is a pasteurization process which retains beneficial bacteria without making our mixes hydrophobic. Our heat process dries the mixture so that particles this small can be screened to eliminate oversize and undersize particles which plug up pore spaces and to give you the most effective top-dressing without leaving debris to be raked off! Our Premium Mix for traditional greens; approximately 75% sand by analysis (by volume: 50% sand and 50% our special composted mix of rich, uniform sandy loam and reed-sedge peat); weight approximately 1,700 lbs. per cubic yard; high sand content yet a superb growing medium rich in beneficial bacteria - the ideal topdressing for traditional greens!
